I started with an iPod in 2004 when they had no competition
Then just kept upgrading every 4 or 5 years and ended up with this
Should have got a Samsung this time
I hate how they release new stuff every 6 months
In also sure they install bugs and stupid stuff in the updates
My phone was great till 3 weeks before they released the I phone 5
Since then its been doing stupid stuff like crashing and randomly getting really slow
Pretty sure they are trying to make me buy the latest model

WIRED magazine did an article about how Apple products are made. They have these all-powerful factories, and have even installed suicide nets on their buildings.
I also try to not buy Apple products when I can. They are WAY overpriced and I really don't like the monopolies they hold on music and whatnot. I got an iPhone 3G from a friend, I just use it as an ipod touch though.
Fowler - You can just burn cds from a friends itunes and then upload the cd to yours. That,s how I get most of my music. I also rent cds from the library and then upload them to my computer.
Lol, my neice thinks that fairy dust is the stuff I sprinkle on my food(salt/pepper)

Yes u can but that's a lot if effort when I can download the music free and use less of my Internet limt
Also if u put free music on I tunes then u can move it anywhere

That's strange. You think they'd want to get rid of free downloaded music by giving there CUSTOMER options for the music they PAID for. But oh no! Golden apple has such a hold on people they can screw them and still make money off it.

Whoops, sorry bout the double post. But anyways, as of 1hour ago I have jailbrocken my iPod touch 4th gem using insanelyios.com. The did have a untethered version so everything I reboot(not that often) I have to download part of the jailbreak back. It's not that difficult to do either.

I have jailbroken all my iGear except the iPhone 5 as the break isn't avail yet, I highly recommend doing it or have someone do it for you if you aren't confident doing it yourself

I'm just dreading the day when my mom picks up my jail bricked device and is utterly baffled. My sis tried doin it awhile back and it didn't work for her so she blabbed to my mom how dangerousness jailbreaking was. Too many people got the wrong idea.

Ive been thinking I would like to snag one of them ipod touches, stash a bunch of tunes on it, and take half decent pictures (so Im told). Found out there is an app that you can text if theres internet, not sure how that works... but might be nice to have around the house. Cell phone signal around the house is kinda sucky.
Anybody tell me what they think bout these things?

Both my kids have iPod touches. The can send SMS, mms etc. and emails provided wifi is available. They also receive alerts from game etc. so I assume tapatalk would work too.

As far as I know they removed their file protection years ago when people were whinging heaps about it, I remember it being a really big thing haha. One option I used for a bit a while ago is bandit.fm , Theyre a branch of sanity nowadays, but when you buy a song on there you just download it as a file through your web browser, no protection whatsoever and still legal haha

Over here in the UK Iphones are incrediby popular. I jumped from android to iphone a year ago with the 4S then bought the iphone 5 when it came out.
I've also got the 6G nano as a wristwatch using the lunatik (genuine) strap:
Get so many people asking about that ^ its awesome!
Yes they're expensive, but apple products have a design quality superior to everything else imo. Even the packaging is gorgeous. It'll always have haters and people it won't suit. Weird that most apple product owners either have a stigma that their product is the best all rounder though (I don't - I can pick their flaws!).
I've just got a sony ps vita which is a nice thing to have too. Great fun!
