Egad. What a thread....

Eh, you might keep that old fuel around as a general cleaning solvent. I’ve seen guys use old gas and a paintbrush on dirty engine parts (if that was something you were constantly into). I’ve never done it (yet) because I didn't want to mess with the stinky old gas.

I’ve also used stale gasoline to quick start my burn barrel when I burn yard debris, tree limbs, etc.

I think you can dispose of old gas at recycling centers, if you have one that also recycles used oil.

But the crux of the whole matter is you must have clean, fresh, high quality gasoline for this small engine hobby. Despite our “advanced civilization and technology” the enviro whackos have foisted some pretty crappy gasoline on us. We’re kind of in a gasoline Dark Age with the advent of enthanol (corn squeezin’s) additives.

^^Truth.
Ethanol is really annoying.
When I recently went on vacation to Oregon, in some areas of Utah and such, since there is an avid off roading community, a lot of gas stations sold ethanol free. I think the lowest prices I saw was ~$3/gal. A killer deal, considering that racing gas is more like upwards of $7/gal.:smiley_omg:

I cleaned the gas tank out to get rid of all the stuff that was in there, and let it bake in the sun for several hours to get all the moisture out. I also cleaned the gas tank filter which was covered in black sediment. The fuel flow issue seems to be resolved. I reinstalled everything and it runs again (for now)! And better than it ever has since having done the aftermarket upgrades. I can start the kart with the electric ignition even without a choke (with pulsing the gas pedal). It of course starts better with the choke, but still. Took it around for a few laps, seems good to go.
