Well, today I finished all of the steering system. I got the tie rods all mounted and finished up some welds. I also got the seat mounted.

I then sat in my kart and pretended to drive it. Thats when I started thinking and it hit me, Im almost done! After the pedals get shipped to my house and I get them mounted then all that I will be waiting on is the motor so I can mount the brakes and get the measurements to mount the engine.

I just need to find a used dirt bike!!! I cant seem to find any! Someone on the forums got a wrecked bike for $120 or something close to that! The cheapest I could find was $300 bike that wasnt wrecked, but it didnt run.

If anyone has some advice or anything to offer me for help on my dirt bike situation please let me know! I will thank you

I think I left enough room for the engine? I hope anyway!

And now for some action shots!!!!

Wow, just wow! Just a few days ago you were asking about a program to design the kart and now you're almost done? It took me like six months to make mine! :roflol:

Haha, well I do still have a bit. I meant that I am done with as much as I can do until I get the engine. There is still a bit to do, but yes I was thinking myself that I made some AMAZING progress this weekend going from nothing to the frame complete with wheels!

2 things that helped A LOT where the fact that this is my 3rd kart and I understand exactly what needs to be done and the fact that I planned everything 100% I literally had all the pieces of the frame numbered so I knew what pieces they were. And I knew how long they needed to be cut and what degree angle they needed to be cut at before I even ordered the metal. That helped A LOT cause when I got it, I could get right to work and I cut out all the pieces and tacked them all together in one day.

Use high amp range if you arent already, try turning up the wire speed.

Little update. Today I ordered new bearings for the front wheels and my throttle, brake, and clutch pedals. I also took off those 2 bars that were holding up the steering wheel because I realized that they were RIGHT where my pedals are supposed to go! :roflol: I also got a steel plate and mounted it on the floor so my feet can rest on something.

The cart is looking good!!!!

And here its looking even better!!!!!
:cheers2:

Yeah, see it doesnt actually make the kart faster. But see you drink it right, and it makes you only be able to focus about half as much as you normally do, thus making it seem as if the kart is 2x as fast!!!

HAHAHA!!! Seems like you're losing control??? Its not until it "seems" that you are in the hospital that you realize you DID lose control.

Don't install a seatbelt unless you plan on a full rollcage. You need to be able to come off of the kart in the event of a rollover, or else you'll be trapped under the kart with no cage to protect you.

ohh no, I was just kidding. Im not putting on a seat belt LOL. Although I would imagine on pavement it would be pretty darn near impossible to flip this thing...

Dude, I'm not ashamed to say that I'm gonna copy your design to the T. It looks fabulous.

...... I was thinking the same thing..... :iagree:

It's actually inspired me to try to re-do my frame all over again, but I want to use a motorcycle engine. If only I could get my hands on one....
