Measure twice cut once
like people said 80 is crazy so tc is un needed put in about a 45 to 55 tooth sprocket on the back and youl be good
well swap that tiny briggs twin for somthing bigger like a 250cc bike engine
(personly id say the v8 is still the best option)
That brigs has more cc's then a 250 cc bike motor.. only thing the bike motor got on the briggs is a gear box
the current speed I reach is 40 cuz i have a gps in it. lol
But when you do the calcs, it's says you should be doing 50-ish, right?
If that's the case, my money's on you being geared too high. You're, what- 14T and 27T, yes? change out that rear sprocket for something larger. It will lower your ratio and give the engine more mechanical advantage. The speed calculator is only theoretical, insofar as the engine only has so much power, and if the ratio is too low, you will never reach the top speed. Ie, your max RPM may be 3600, but at full bore, full load, the engine's only able to turn, say, 3000.
I actually gained top speed by gearing down because I had that problem. By doing so, I took some load off the engine and it's now able to spin up easier to max RPM.
Why do you need to go 80 on a go kart. Thats what a car is for. A go kart is just something to put around on and have fun. Since your *** is 5cm off the ground, when your doing 50km/h (30mph) you feel like your doing 80mph anyway. Do 60mph on a go kart then say you want to do 80mph. I bet u will be ****ting yourself. Just think, if that tyre comes off, or a bolt comes loose, or ur brakes fail, or your engine throttle sticks or anything, your dead as a door knob. Seriously! Keep the fast stuff for a real car.
The CC for my Engine are more then a dirt bike engine it has 570CC
Turns out im not such a c**t after all.
Just sick of rich kids that think the internet is an excuse for learning for themselves.
