Ok, so how do I measure/restrict RPM's after the governor is off to try and keep it under 5.5k or 5k? The obvious thing that sticks out to me is to restrict the movement in the throttle lever, but I wouldn't have the slightest how to measure at what level to restrict it at.
The kids feather the throttle and drive it easy but my wife and I go all-out just about all the time (we kind of have to in order to get it up the hills with momentum and such). Our runs usually last only a minute or two with WOT tops. Actually, not even that long because we have to get off the gas on the turns. I wouldn't say we abuse it, but there is no doubt we push it hard.
Ultimately, it sounds like I should probably leave the governor in place until I can upgrade the other components.
Thanks for catching my mistake in the tire calculations toystory. You would be correct! That means that we're still about 10mph shy of the full potential. Any ideas or is 16mph a decent number (remember; we're on grass/dirt with lots of elevation changes)?
