So how bout a lilttle background on my sumer project…Once upon a time I was driving home from my girlfriends house and out of the corner of my eye I spot a frame! Just sitting there all alone next to a dumpster s o turn around to go look at it and relize it’s a mini chopper frame and even be a mini chopper it still wont fit in the trans am..DUH . I race home to get the truck and and race back over there! Get there throw it in the back and race back home!(there was a lot of racing that night;) anywayyyy got it out to the shop and looked at what I had… the bike came with a frame, forks, trees, wheels and tires, rear drums, a front rotor, seat, and crappy handle bars. Allof it was covered in rust and grass and other stuff.
Sorry no build pics! No camera then
the number goes with the pic in order sorry im new here and dont kno exactly how to do everything yet haha

1.It only took about a month for all of it even tho I’m still waiting on the rear sprocket so I can test drive it. There was a ton of grinding and polishing to get everything I could shinny and smooth or just clean!

2.It’s really small for me I might just end up giving it to my little brother and making me a real one with my dad’s triumph frame

3.the engine is a LCT 208cc 6 hp 9 ft lbs beast the I got from a $400 craftsmen tiller that was on sale for $100 because it was “broke” (it had a realllllly wobbly wheel) I got tons of stuff off that tiller including the gas tank which kills the look of the bike but im cheap and don’t wana buy one haha

4.Crappy seat which im going to rewrap and tank

5.The handle bars are the only thing with rust still because ima switch the out for straight bars when I find some.

tell me what yall think and advice is helpful;)

Welcome to DIY, really nice build.

Unless your pics have been reversed, I'm thinking that motor might just need to be mounted in the other direction. Kind looks like its gonna go backwards.

if you can flip the tank 180, you will hold more fuel, less sloshing, better handling

All 4 of your pics seem to show the motor is mounted backwards. Your clutch should be on your left side as your sitting on it. Give your starter rope a pull and see what direction your motor spins.

Your engine looks backwards, Unless it really does run that way.

But it would be embarrassing to get it all together and take off in reverse.

You know if that motor wont fit the right way, you could angle the mount a bit. If you raised the front up, the jug might just clear under that seat rail.

4-stroke kart racers have used angle engine mounts for years (up to 15 degrees) to get more tire clearance. They usualy angle the motor in the other direction but I think you'd probably be fine tilting yours just enough to make it fit.

Yep, good idea man.

If necessary, your carb should still work fine on a bit of an angle. Most all these engines are designed to run just fine while going up and down prety steep hills. Your Honda's float bowl is fairly deep and its main jet draws fuel from near the bottom. I think you'd have to have that carb on a severe angle before it would affect the needle and seat valve enough to flood or starve the motor.

yeah that makes cents just watch it on steep hills!

so i got the engine unmonted kast night fliped it around and it just fit in the with the angle thing i stuck a 3/4 pipe under the front and it fit amazingly.

whats the best way to make a spacer i was thinking about using rubber leaf spring bushings off my old car?
or just somthing like a metal spacer or **** load of washers? haha

where is the bushing going? leaf spring bushings normally have a steel bushing in them, depends on how big a diameter you need. will you be changing out the tank later?

yeah i will im going to but a real tank on it when i get some cash

and the bushings will go under the front 2 holes to put the engine on a lil bit on an angle to make it fit under the seat rail

Looks like your 2 motor mount plates bolt in. I was thinking a washer or 2 spacing each end, pushing the rear down and the front up might just work nicely here.
