have fitted my gx200 to my mini kart, INSANITY el rapido! the only problem is it idles high and the clutch is engaging and smoking so i cant run it any help?
Its not by the throttle lever, its on the carb. Right where the linkage goes to the butterfly there should be 1 set screw, then another on the side, the one on the side adjusts your jets, and the other one will adjust how far your butterfly closes. Adjust the jets first till it idles lower, then if its still too high try adjusting the butterfly.
*cries* i have located all the screws but i have a problem . the small black plasticky thing does not close fully. when i poke it back it idles perfectley. what do i do now? thanks for the help so far (Y)
still no good, ive decided to disconnect the govenor. use the gov rod to attatch the black twisty thing directly to the throttle lever. would this work?
i have done it, it works well and now i have no govenor, just keeps revvin! had to much power as it was. i think i will restrict it via the throttle screw. i dont have to anything to the govenor screw do i? it will be ok?
Its a good idea to tear it down and remove the internal bits of the governor. Its not a matter of if the gov will blow apart and trash the motor its WHEN it will blow up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTNbDvfIHoo
the vidoes really helped! i removed the gov gear and i was re assembling my engine....then snap. i snapped a bolt holding the crank case on. THE LAST BOLT!!! i dont think i have used so much obscene language in my life! so tomorrow is the tricky biz of removing that bolt and replacing it!
