I always wonder how people can justify buying upgrade kits for a running engine, then can't get it running after the upgrade, and seem happy to put it back to stock and get it running again, Even though it runs badly, now, at least it runs.
And this exercise cost you how much?

Put the kit-supplied non-EPA carburetor back on it and get it running. Buy a set of jets and experiment---maybe the .037" is too much gas for your elevation or something. Could be if you lived in the Himalayas....

You're somewhat hampered by your no-photo/no-video situation as it pertains to having other's eyes on your project.

Why wouldn't you want to buy one of these kits. Most contain very good parts. I have purchased several. You usually get a little bit of a break on price. What's your problem with the kits. Pay more attention to what you are doing.

Did you buy the bike new? Do you have the manuel that would have come with it? If you're running a header type exhaust and free flow air filter, the carburetor needs the .037" jet. There are 3 things that you could have messed up when changing the carburetor and or jet. One is the emulsion tube that sits above the jet when you remove the fuel bowl. Easy to get it in backwards. Also the gaskets for the carb. Easy to get them upside down. And also the plastic gizmo that sits between the carb and the head. I mentioned this very early on in this thread. I have a few brand new carbs that I could look at and take a picture of what I am talking about. Maybe tomorrow. So answer me the first two questions. In English.
I have Grandkids older than you, so if you want my help, don't call me bro. Got it.These things aren't all that difficult. I will try to help you. You don't need the carb that came in the kit. It's really no different than the stock one that was on your engine originally. So lets work with that one, because you said it ran before with that one on it. FWIW, I have 2 or 3 heavily modified engines, with the stock carb and the .037" jet, and they run very strong.
