I had my Nephew bring me his kart since the mechanic working on it wanted to replace the engine because when you pulled the rope the engine would lock up and almost break your arm and I would usually break the rope, I performed a dry compression test and it was normal, So I just decided to readjust the valves and rework his starter recoil and installed the recoil facing more to the rear instead of straight up and it pulls like a dream no locking up and getting stuck but I was looking at the kart and I didn't see any identifications so I thought I would put out my first post. I attached photos

OHH50 Correct !

You sir are to be commended for bringing a crappy motor back to life.....to live and frustrate at a later date.......:lolgoku:

I don't know what postulate means......I think I picked one up once.....but I caught a disease...... so.....now I stay away from postulates and Tecumsehs.....:lolgoku:

1 other thing I noticed on this kart was a cable running from the brake rod to the governor hooked by a clip so I guess it would throttle down when you braked?

This kart is all top end it takes awhile to get up and going but when it does the one wheel wonder spins like crazy. My kart is just good at both ends its really fast from the start and not bad top end either and I also adjusted the governor a little on mine.

Wait, what? You know what vaccillate means but you don't know what postulate means? Even I had to look up vaccillate &, as you've probably noticed, I'm rather "wordy"...

postulate
verb
1.
suggest or assume the existence, fact, or truth of (something) as a basis for reasoning, discussion, or belief.

noun
1.
a thing suggested or assumed as true as the basis for reasoning, discussion, or belief.

LOL.....Like I said. ...."sometimes I play the fool........" Now re-read my response as to who may be postulating......

And yes.....I'm rather wordy myself.....but Russ is probably vaccillating in the bathroom because the postulate he called didn't show. ....:stir::lolgoku:

Well all this hype about postulating none of you even seen my question ........... I guess I am assuming yall didn't see it But.............Is it common on some karts to have a cable running from the brake rod to the governor?

I guess it would throttle down when you braked it just seemed strange to me.

i have not tried it out yet the cable is froze up and i have to get new springs for the governor i have to rob the other kart just to run this one but i would say the brake overrides the accelerator and it would just idle
