Well all this hype about postulating none of you even seen my question ........... I guess I am assuming yall didn't see it But.............Is it common on some karts to have a cable running from the brake rod to the governor?

I guess it would throttle down when you braked it just seemed strange to me.

I doubt anyone missed your question. .....it's just not easy to answer as this was a PO addition and while not unheard of. .....pretty rare.....without pics.....impossible to comment on. .....

This off-topic banter actually increases the odds that someone will see your question and possibly answer it as it keeps the thread alive and fresh.......

here are some photos

If this was set up properly, then the engine should return to idle immediately after hitting brakes, or close to. It's all related to how much brake is applied.
This is not common on yard karts. You have a "special " set up..... This allows the brake cable to pull the throttle (governor ) shut even though the throttle is being "opened" at the same time.
Kids (inexperienced drivers) have a tendency to hit hit both pedals in a bad situation..... This prevents throttling while brake is applied. More brake, less throttle can be given....
