Doesn’t look like much of a project -- I see nothing to “restore” (a return to original condition) as it looks running and driving. RIDE IT!

Looks like a Klipper Kart, manufactured by T&D Metals in Watseka IL. The kart division is defunct but I think T&D is still around....

*** On second thought, it appears to have extra weldments added to it. I’d cut all the superfluous junk off.

Thank you! I plan to tear it down and have it powder coated and put some new components on. But for now I’m waiting for a brake setup then we’re going to ride it until winter!

Welcome. What is that big square thing welded on the back? Doesn't look like it belongs there. Great age for your son to start driving a motorized vehicle. You won't believe how far ahead he'll be when it's time to get a drivers license.

What is the pipe sticking out of the right rear tire? Might want to fix that?

More and bigger photos! Pretty sure it’s a Klipper Kart but not sure. Kind of has some Carter Brothers features as well.

Some attempt was made to fashion some roll bars (on both karts) and it looks like it was done by the same hand. I would go full cage or no cage for safety. Depends on where it is driven I guess. How’s the old DIYGK adage go, Denny? Full cage = seatbelts, no cage = no seatbelts?


Can cell phones still take landscape photos and videos? Always find it funny that the vertical video format has taken over on YouTube “shorts”, whereas everything else is w i d e s c r e e n.......

Yeah someone welded four attachment points for something. And they didn’t weld it well. I plan to grind those off. Yesterday I replaced the throttle cable and added a kill switch. It needs a floor pan, it’s being held on the front with spring clamps. Saturday we’re replacing the front wheels clutch and brake.
