I know nothing about this stuff, but I need a metal shop project.

"Hard" is a matter of ingenuity, experience, and tools. As JDM said, there's some fabrication involved. For a first project, I wouldn't suggest it.

I Posted this somewhere else and was thinking I was posting it here.

I need to start looking at build plans since I was not able to get a beat up go kart (guy did not want to sell them), I was looking at my dads friends 2 seater mini buggy type go kart and it has suspension, it does not look hard so I think I will build something like it, if you guys know any build plans for a 2 seater buggy go kart with suspension then please post a link mean while I will be searching.

you usually have to buy build plans unless there are good free ones for buggies. otherwise just google some images of the kart you want and draw something and post it up so we can help modify it.

That's about all you can do. Most engineered plans are not free. The designers wish to be paid for their efforts, and rightly so. R&D is a time consuming, costly proposition. If you spend enough time looking at completed projects, you may be able to design your own, if your ability allows.

There are a few free plans in the Helpful Links sticky that you can maybe look at, but I don't think they have suspension

Edge doesn't do a two seater that u can buy plans for

But the sidewinder would be a good first project
It's made mostly of square tube that is cut and welded at the angles
And it's easy to upgrade to a better buggy at a later date

edge.au.com, not edge.com, it is an Australian website. Do you want to build a kart or a buggy? Describe the kind of speeds, engine, suspension, and terrain you're looking for.

Well I was looking at alot of stuff but my favorite thing would be like a 2 seater mini buggy about 40-50mph when on the road. But my dad is going to check out a go kart that has no engine on thrusday, I have no clue what it looks like or anything, all I know is it has no engine and he was asking 75$. So thrusday we will see what comes up.

Either Fab wants us to buy real estate, or I'm going to hope that the address is listed differently on his computer.

How much do you guys think it would cost to build a side winder with a motor in it to go 60mph?

Look through the Sidewinder plus's webpage, they list a price estimate (Australian dollars, but it's pretty close to the USD figure). That estimate does not include the engine. Prices for an engine vary greatly depending on area, size, condition, etc.
