i have a Tecumseh 11hp motor, it runs good, but the parts are hard to find and i wouldn't mind a little more performance. Is there any problem with running the exhaust straight out (no muffler). And any suggestions maybe for air intake?

Powersport? If you want more power, you're better off starting from scratch. Briggs 5HP, GX200/GX160 Clone, Animals, Blockzillas....

Take blockzilla's off the list. There purely race bred alcohol engines that burn about 1 liter of alcohol in 20 seconds.

im not looking to spend hundreds for a new engine, im saving up for a pit bike so there's no way im buying a new engine, all i really need is a new air intake cause i cant find the filters. I'm pretty happy with the engine, im considering making a muffler for it.

Only with a huge carb and a crazy cam, IIRC(briggs site seems to have lost its blockzilla page) you can put stock 5 hp parts in one and have a normal 5 hp with a heavily reinforced block.

Pic yourself an adapter and airfilter on ebay.

Weld yourself up a straightpipe or trumpet pipe. Drill the jet on your carb.

That should give you noticeably more power.

Why'd you spend $200 in a block and put parts that rev will 5000 in it? :eek:ut:

A cast iron 5HP bore is plenty enough.
