Sorry I was wrong, I started rebuilding the carb, I looked at the top of the float bowl when I saw these words embossed on it "Tillotson Made in Toledo Ohio". Jackpot!!! well not really, but it is a tilly. And Russ, the size of the bore on the carb is bigger than the DB30 2.8hp carb by a tiny bit, so wouldn't it work?

Bore size is (somewhat) immaterial. Venturi size is important as is jetting.
The Tillotson badge does not necessarily make this a better carb than what B&S may use.
Quite possibly this exchange will be a backwards step.

Okay, well, I won't be puting it on an engine for a while, and I am planning on getting a 3hp Briggs for testing carbs and stuff so once I get a test engine I will check it out and see whats up.

you could always just try it.

you never know.

unless you have to weld up an entire custom intake manifold and everything...
