A big Co2 fire extinguisher. I keep one near my diesel tractor incase of emergencies. Learned that trick back in the 80s working on the Oldsmobile diesels. Saved many an engine.

Hey Denny,

I've been runnin' these Isuzu NPR Diesel trucks, for over 15 years

IIRC something like 5 different flatbed tow trucks, in that span
...& probably "worked with" maybe, 20 others (box trucks)
...& have NEVER had (or even heard of) any issues like this :cheers2:

* A couple of days before "the incident" I heard some "chirping"
...but, just thought it was/maybe the bearing in the water pump "goin' bad" (had to replace a few of these)
...so, I was "keepin' an eye on it"

Also, during this time, I noticed some vapor (or smoke) waft past the truck (while sitting at traffic lights)
...but, again just thought...water pump (or radiator) (also, had to replace a few of these)

But, when I was on the highway (just before the incident) I heard the "chirping" starting to get steady & louder
...& "if" it was the water pump, the procedure it to stop driving before overheating

But, it wasn't the water pump
...&/then, when I got off at that off ramp "ALL HECK STARTED BREAKIN" LOOSE"

Now, I know :sifone:
