For the cheap people like me I figured I would share what I did to strengthen hf wheels

First thing you do is take the rim apart... use a miny sluge to take out the berings try not to mess them up cause you will have to buy a new wheel

take a dremel and take all the paint off around where the bearing tube thing meets the rim on the front and back... make sure to take off some on the tips of the rim for the ground

put some nice fat welds on there

put the bearings back in with a socket or something close to that size so that you don't mess it up and spot weld that on

you have to make it short or you will burn out the grease in the bearing (don't ask how I know that)

and the finished product now you can be a lil harder on these cheap wheels and they won't blow out the bearings

oh and make sure you if you want it to look nice just throw some spray paint on those rims and say it is black chrome they will believe you don't worry

good luck

Weld around the base of the Bearing "tube" connecting to the rest of the hub. It seems to be only pressed on, and can't handle sideways forces. I have a nice weld in place and it does the trick really well.

i've found that the hf wheels with the crappy sawtooth tread tires have better bearings in them than the flanged bearings on the knobby ones. all hf tires suck anyways so just get some slicks for the rims. I actually just finished welding my wheels up. It's easier to get a good looking weld if you grind the inner lip of the bearing tube to remove it from the rim and then weld it to that extra flange/spacer thing that goes between the two.

I'm new at welding and it doesn't help that I use a Flux welder with all of the splater

I was always breaking threw the bearing tubes so I just welded it on for more strength.... probly a better way but w/e it works.... now all that I am having trouble with is blowing threw so many tires lol I do like going sideways

the rim holds but it isn't fun to blow a tire in a turn when you bout to get ran over by a car lol
