well right before the cylnder there is a lip
it hits that
but i talked to the guy and he said it was normal and all horestman H beam stock length rods have to have te block die grinded
what is die grinding?

I've also heard those Horstsman rods will hit the cam lobes...

Welcome to engine building fellas. When building our Rhino we had to clearence alot of things. What he means by "Block die grinding" is using your dremel cut the areas where it hits. Mark with a sharpie marker first. Get some pictures of this.

A true die grinder is somewhat larger than a Dremel.
Last one I used was 4.5 amps.

Imo look on ebay for cheap billet flywheel's. But realy why do you want to run 8 k on that kind of motor? You guys dont seem to understand that it's EXTREMELY stressfull on the block and other parts.

4000-4500 rpm depending on how tired the intake valve spring is. You need springs and a cam to spin faster.

Bushing sidecover eh? After 7000 you want to watch that. Starts starving for oil. Go n' get the EZ Bore kit to enlarge the oil hole.

AFTER 7000? I think bushings Get a little tired at more like 5-6. There only desihned for 3600. And why do you guys wana run like 7-8 grand out of these little cast buggers with bushings?

Sure if you only plan to run 4700 or so.
