Well I'm imagining two yuppies arguing about the new Louis Vuitton collection, if the Louboutin mules are actually better than the ones by Jimmy Choo,
or far worse (for males to listen to) if the new Chanel clutch is superior to the one from Gucci.
Since that clutch does not go onto an engine but into an armpit (axle if you will :D)

*shrugs* women.

OK, that's new info for me; the fact that I'll most likely never work in an environment where people really worry about that type of distinction just means I'll file it away for future reference....

That wasn't it-He conviently omitted the fact that they both had great big bogonzas and his mind and ears were overwhelmed by his eyes.

NO,NO,NO... The only reason I didn't restart the car an go elsewhere was the fact that I was on fumes; I never really looked at them because I was trying to hide behind the pump: the ~2 or 3 words I was picking up seemed to involve some kind of triangle, and at 5:30 AM, they sounded like they were about to go to war......

O2: I didn't want to stop for gas there, it's that I had no choice but to stop there. This is only a couple of blocks from where Chris Dansler went on his " " spree (you can look it up on your own time; this is a family friendly forum).

All in all, Grand Rapids is probably pretty safe; what has a lot of people being extra careful is that we have at least one, maybe two, drive by :censored: on the loose ATM.......:surrender::surrender:

And you wonder why I didn't feel like getting involved? If your idea of fun is to just dive right in, go right ahead; when I hear a cat fight like that going down, with gun men wanted for less than that? I'm looking for the city limits sign myself....:surrender::surrender:

"Cut the engine off" sounds ok but, "cut it back on" does sound a bit strange, not to mention illogical...

Yeah, well...my Mom can't stand when I let slip 'slow up'. "You sound just like your father!" :surrender:

Virginians have a funny thing for naming towns. We have:

Long Island
South Boston
Lord Botetourt (Pronounced "bot-uh-tot")
Buena Vista (bu-na vis-tuh)
Gloucester (Glos-ter)

Yeah, dunno.

Relax, I knew you were just stirring the pot; my response was to let you know that it was a situation that was something else entirely.

As far as the gunmen on the loose, as far as I know they're still out there.... :surrender::surrender:

This is likely to be a long and HEAVY post just to prove a point. All I ask is that it be read in it's entirety with an open mind.

A while back one of our fine members from Canada compared their crime rate to America's as an argument against gun ownership. As a Texan and multiple gun owner, I have to respond. There is a current and long running fight against gun ownership in this country and I feel duty bound to defend my right to own them.

To compare crime rates and attribute gun ownership as the deciding factor is at best speculation. We are talking about different countries.

Let's start with 2 States in the same country first, the other factors involved. In the U.S. the state with the toughest most regulated gun laws is New York city. It also has the highest crime rates. A while back a town in Texas legalized people wearing guns on their hips. The crime rates dropped. Face it, when any innocent bystanders could blow you away, it's going to make you think twice.

America now patrols the world battleling human rights violations. Maybe we are trying to make up for something. We have a long and storied past of the same. We but all the natives on reservations and now subsidize their existence. The interesting thing is that most live in poverty. One tribe either refused government help or weren't recognized for eligibility. They live an above average lifestyle and certainly better than me.

So now we come to slavery. Again America's solution is subsidizing the descendants of the slaves. This helps spread a disease that is not limited to the poor or defined by ethnic lines. It's rampant in the rich and spoiled young. Simply put it's" the world owes me a living" syndrome that creates the problem.Throw in an animosity towards your fellow man for acts in the past and the result is unhealthy.

The majority of homicides in this country are black on black. The combination of being raised in poverty and surrounded with self pity and anger make them who they are. I don't have a solution and I'm not blaming those people with that mindset because they are simply a product of their environment. It's not a racial thing per se but a cultural one.

So the point is that there are other factors involved here and to blame guns is an oversimplification at best. Crime is always higher in the poor neighborhoods and we don't any shortage of them here.

How many Canadian gangs are there? Hell's Mayple Leaves?

Bahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa! They're awesome! Whoever the mind behind that campaign is is a comic genius

No, that one hasn't been on TV here. It might have been another country here. The African guys look like they could be from Namibia, so maybe it is from there.

It was really funny though

I thought they were really funny too!

Sadly, I'd bet if this was in the US, it would be removed for being "to racist." Bleh...

Vas iz dat? I'm sure it's funnier when you can read the subtitles. Unfortunately, I couldn't even read the English ones, but it did crack me up for some reason.

Here I find myself in a predicament... While I do like to get into conversations like this (personally), I find they pretty much always go south (moderator). So let's so our best to stay really civil (not this post, but where it could lead) and shy away from getting too passionate about the subject.

I'm also pretty sure whichever Canadian member you're referring to, isn't me. I agree with your statement. As far as the extent of our own problems- well, they're smaller, but then again our population density is a lot lighter, with a lot less concentration in urban centers. I have been told that there are about as many residents in the state of California alone as there are total Canadian citizens. Yet, in terms of square miles, Canada is slightly larger than the USA. That oughta bring things into perspective a bit.
