how do you change the rpm engagement on a comet 40 series driver?

just wondering . . . how do you change the rpm engagement on a comet 40 series driver? the one i ordered apparently has the "red" spring but i do not know what it is set to for an rpm engagement or how to change the rpm engagement for that matter

i have never had a comet torque converter, but should be simila to a sled one. Lighter spring quicker engagement, lighter weights higher engagement and vice versa, try it as is before changin stuff.

You can also adjust the driven as to how fast it "shifts", which can really let youtake advantage of your riding style and engine. I think the comet has 3 different settings on the driven, may be wrong my stock A/C has 6or 7.

so do you have to buy heavier weights then? where do i get them?

and how easy are these weights to change? and what would the best driven setting be for a off roader like mine?

I dont know how the weights are set up on these comet torque converters, but yes u would have to buy new ones. Like i said see how it is before you worry about buying new weights.

Setting for offroad would be either the middle hole or the one to the far right ( i think it would be to the right.... Its whichever one gives the most spring tension.

Someone with a comet torque converter will chime in, im basing all this off the sleds i've worked on, which will be the same concept but most likely set up a bit different.

The primary weights in these converters is whats known as the "pucks". Its the part that slides up and down in the clutch cover acting as a ramp.

ok sweet im guessing this guy i bought it from only changed them to red springs and didnt change the weights. i looked at the rpm engagement chart and they engage a 2000 rpm which would be perfect for me!
