that cage design is called a sidwinder

www.edge.au.com

Yeah, im on minibuggy.net and thats where i got the idea from.

Really i want something that is pretty minimal since i dont plan on taking this offroad but i want it to look good, and aggressive, at the same time. I dont want a cage that looks like an afterthought...

Oh and ive pretty much decided my next buggy build will be the Piranha from edge.

To make more room I added to the Original Ody main hoop. Here is some pics how I made it wider. Then I added those side cage things you see. Pretty basic but I thought it looked cool. Give you plenty of roon to bash around in the driver seat.

Just trying to give you some ideas. Good luck

Ordered the material today for the roll cage. They will be delivering it in the morning. I went with 1" .095" wall thickness DOM tubing. I was going to do 1.5" for the main hoop but the frame really isnt wide enough to weld it all the way around.

Working on mounting the seat now. I was by the metal supply house earlier and they will be delivering the tubing today anytime now. Its actually going to start looking like a buggy pretty soon...

Franky, If you cut those brackets off that hold the upper shock I can use them. Those brackets are the newer models. The yellow fl250's bolted the bumper to the shock mount. The new Ody I just bought has all the newer parts but with older frame. I can use those brackets in the future if you cut them off.

Did you see the seat pan that I have on my new Ody I just got? The bumper on this one is trashed but it's not even bolter to the frame under the foot tub. It's to short for older style frame.

Do you have the old engine basket/cage? I need the CDI coil bracket and CDI holder as well.

Sorry i havent checked in. The shop has been crazy lately. I do have the old engine basket/cradle if you need it. I dont have the top cage part that goes over the engine though. Only what the half oval shaped cradle underneath. Ill take care when i cut off the shock mount brackets. I think they are spot welded in place on some spots but i have a spot weld drill bit and you should be able to just re-spot weld them onto your ody.

I havent been on in awhile so i havent checked out any of your new stuff. Ill try to get on later today and see what you got going on.
