I'll post pics up in the morning. Got my new poly high back racing bucket seat with cutouts for 5 point harness and finally got the frame cleaned up, modified, and strengthened. Have to build the cage which I'll start on as soon as some of my broke customers pay me so I can buy material...

The only thing that will actually be left from the original odyssey is the steering assembly, J-arms, spindles, and the front half of the frame, although it is highly modified from stock...

Looks really good. I would like to see the seat sitting lower in the frame though? It's going to be sick with a cage. Got any cage styles in mind yet?

Is it longer that the Original Ody? What will you use for front shocks? Your not using the ody shock mounts on the frame right?

Wheelie bars????

The good thing about the ody front end is that it well built and strong with zero bump steer. The bad is that it's really heavy setup.

Im limited on how low i can put the seat as the sides hit the frame if i go to low and the front of the seat hits the crossmember when i have it as far forward as it needs to go to fit me.

I will be cutting off the front upper shock mounts, putting some ATV front shocks on and probly using the cage as the top mount for them. Im not going to get to crazy with the length of the new shocks so they wont be near as big or long as the back but will be a definate improvement over the existing ones.

For the cage, im thinking of just doing a minimalist cage. Im not going to go crazy like a sand rail cage or anything, and ill be using 1.5" tubing so it will be strong enough. The style wont use much more tubing than the original ody cage did but will look better and be WAY stronger.

Oh and its about 12" longer than the stock ody frame wise.

Maybe something kind of similar to this but will be different at the same time. No side bars sticking out between the wheels, and a little different on the style and made with round tubing instead of square.

No electrical and all the fenders etc were missing when i acquired it.

Do you have an extra plastic steering wheel cover? Mines broken and i would like to mount my air shifter buttons on the wheel.

Those wheel covers cost an arm and a leg. What I do is fix them. I see your is busted and missing. But what I do is buy one on ebay that has cracked mounting holes but in good shape otherwise. I then cut out some thin sheet metal to match the ends. I opoxy the metal onto the plastic and drill the holes for out to mount them.

Hard to see in these pics but that what I did here. If done right you cannot even notice.

Also my ftaher in law did his ody this way with some seat vinyl. Does not show the mounting holes yet but you get the idea. The thin metal is easier though. So what I am saying is if you buy a cheap one with cracked mouting holes you can still work with it. You might have to cut a hole in the cover anyway to get more throttle pull. My yellow racer is like that.

Fast forward to 1:50 in this vid.

I wish mine had both switch covers on the ends but its missing the left one and the right one is broken away from the plastic arm.

I found a good used one on ebay for $40 with no cracks or anything but the rest i saw were around $150!! No way ill pay that much for a plastic steering wheel cover...

That guy you bought the cover from has a huge barn and shop full of Ody parts. Were talking tons on tons of parts. He will have anything you need. So if you need anything else email him for he does combine shipping.
