Pull start looks a little boxed in dont it?

Boxed in?

If your talking about it beeing unbder the battery. The pull stop rope comes out of the starter about a foot and the handle connects to the frame hoopd bar. Everything is in the original honda loaction. But the ES moves it out about an inch or so.

Got the rear section done tonight. She started right up after we got the fuel primed. Should have a test drive tomorrow if all goes well. Still lots to do so maybe next weekend it will be done.

Here some pics of what was done today.

hey big. I'm looking around for that POR15 on Google , does it only come in black.

Black and silver. Do not use the silver though. Use the black. A $20 starter kit would paint your trike. You have to go really really light on the first coat though. I did all the ody parts you see here with a pint. It spreads like water in a way.

Also rememebr por15 does not like shinny new metal. You need to sand blast or let rust outside for a week. Por15 needs tooth for it to work right.

Por15 has another pruduct call Hardnose Paint. even tougher than por15 black. Search POR15 Hardnose. Amazing stuff as well. Gas and even brake fluid will not effect it all. I painted this moped with Hardnose with only a brush. You will not see any brsuh marks. Beat it with a pipe wrench and it will not chip. Just like the can says. "too tough to chip" Thats say a lot to put that on the can.

ya, the search brought me to ebay and there are a bunch of colors. I am thinking of the gold but Im wondering if its shiny or just a dull yellow. That moped looks nice is that just the standard red?

All por15 has that deep ceramic tile look. It really is powder coat in a can. But even tougher.

Do not skimp out. By all the parts. Marine Clean, And Medal Ready. Por15 is not a product you can skip out on. Follow derections to the T.

I would just go black. It's only $20 for paint that you cannot destroy even if you tried. You woud need to sandblast though or it will turn out junk por15 that failed. It like rusted metal best. works well on sandblasted parts. Needs tooth. Sanding does not work. You need to top coat with black rattle can while por15 is tacky. It is not UV safe. Por15 Hardnose needs NO top coat. It can handle anything you toss at it.

Makes your seats blue and othe parts to match the moter.

Look at the red on the mower deck. it has that porcilan look.

ok sure I was planing on once done with the trike, spraying it down with water or submerging it in an old swimming pool to get it to rust faster ( 3-4 days ) then take it out , let it dry for a day. Then POR15 it.
do you have a site that has like some starter kit that I could get that has everything in it ??

Ebay for $18 plus shipping. This will paint your trike if you follow my intructions.

If you can find local at an auto paint store. it only about $20. You have to call around.

I think it would rust better wish a saltwater wash down everyday. Sand it a bit. Let it sit outside and spray it with salt water every day.

Some will laugh at letting it rust. But I did it before and it worked great. Metal Ready changes the rust the a zink coating. That coating is what makes por15 bond so good. Shinny new metal has no rust to convert. Sandblasting gives in enough tooth to work well. But not like on rust. It is bullet proof.

If you buy the starter kit PM me. You will need my tips to make it last. Trust me if you try por15 you will do many vids on how to destroy it. It is that tough. At car shows the por15 booth has a hammer and screwdriver. A slab of por15 steel. They tell you to try to chip it. You can't. All that for $20. ??????

Rock crawlers like por15 for it can take the beating or rocks grinding on the chassis. It truly is amazing stuff.

The bad? DO NOT GET ANY ON YOU. I will take 3 weeks for it to go away. even if you wire wheel your skin.

More bad? No shelf life. Buy small cans or paint all your parts at the same time. There are tricks to make it have longer shelf life. But best to buy small cans and not large.

More More bad? Once you paint with por15 it is that color for life. Ask any blaster and they will tell you por15 is way harder to remove than powder coat. The chemicals baths have no effect on it. The only way to remove it is with a a torch and burn it off. Do a google on how to remove por15? Grinders it the common answer.

POR15 is perfect for your smaller shop. No spray stuff needed.

Painting karts with por15 thread. Some desagree. But you be the judge. None of them are tougher than por15 though.

What about electrolysis in reverse for a little while to rust it?

Never tried it. Maybe T-man can do a test. The only thing that worries me is the rust rod gets eaten as well.

got some more done today. Wife had me doing all kinds of things. I did get some done. Wish I would have painted the the skid pan black. In the 3rd pic notice the black pan on the other Ody?

Got some more done like new cables, rear light and a few tires. Father in law is working on the seat back. Going to have a test ride saturday for sure. I went and bought a new throttle and brake cables. The old ones were okay but I thought what the heck. Both new cables were like $32 shipped. The seat cover for top and bottom was $38 shipped. I cannot remember grand total. But I am right around $600 for this build. Your build may be more or less depending how much you paid and the condition of the parts when you bought your Ody. Ody parts are cheap. Ebay is flowing with Ody parts. if you shop well you can steal some parts. The grade 8 hardware I already had.

As soon as this build is done I will be starting the military themed dessert protrol vehical. It is going to be really cool build. I get to play Paul Jr making my own design. I got a Flip Cam and a Youtube channel now. I am going to start doing some build vids.

Here is my channel. I am learning how to make vids so some of them suck. Once I figure them out I will delete the vids I have up now. I got a cool Bar Stool Racer build pics up now.

Looking like an Ody now. Will soon be ready for another 25 years of use. You cannot go wrong with an Odyssey.

Nice job Big. That thing honestly looks better than it would if you bought it brand new from Honda. The only thing is, after having a project with such nice paint, and all clean, it is a shame to drive the balls off it and get it all muddy, dusty, and greasy.

Thanks Friend, Yep I plan to ride this like I stole it.

Okay did the first test ride today. Went perfect. Here are the first pics out of the garage. I will be swaping tires with the sled Ody. Also have 3" wheel spacers for the sled Ody. Should have a mean stance after the spacers and larger tires.

Have vids I will post later.
