Three years ago I bought my Granddaughter, then 4, an electric go kart. I modified the throttle and brake pedals so she could reach them and started her on her way. She is now 7 and the pedals have been moved to their original position and she wants more. she weighs about 50 pounds and the kart weighs in around 75 pounds with battery and electric motor . It has a 500 watt 36 volt motor in it now and will go approx. 20 mph. on the normal setting. Over the last winter and summer it has burned up the electric controller and the battery is getting old and will need a new charger. To replace these three items will cost about the same as a gas motor would cost. I was wondering if anybody out there had converted a Honda Minimoto electric kart to gas and what problems and or hints they might have. What size motor are we looking for to move this 125? pounds about 25-30 mph Thanks from Papa and Danni.
