[Kaptain Krunch]

Ok finally got my vice home for some pics, not quite done still have to make the handle and the mounting brackets. It is all custom machined by me, except for a few parts which were left over from someone else's vice project. It has vertical and horizontal "v" slots for round stock and a ledge for flat stock, and i machined my name into it in cursive on the CNC mill. It ain't perfect but its my first big ish machining project.

Prolly more than anyone would want to pay haha, steel aint cheap and neither is time, especially when its my only 2 hours a day. if your neighbors got that CNC it wouldnt be hard to make, prolly got 10 hours into this and the only thing that was CNC cut was the main block, the writing, and the moving jaw.

Thanks, we dont have a great selection of sharp end mills, so the finish for most of it was pretty bad. I did the majority of the machining with a big dull carbide bit thanks to my buddy who was using it before me, and taking some deep passes and throwin sparks like crazy haha.

At some point i plan on going back over the main faces with a sharp fly cutter if we ever get one.

Some thin spring steel wraped in a hose clamp. Same concept as a ring compressor. If I where you I would just buy a compressor though.

Ring compressors are cheap...my shop teacher gave me one the other day. Its worth just buying one tho, same thing with valve spring compressors and compression testers. You will always use them if you ever work on engines.

splitted coke can or food can with a hose clamp around it and some little dents at the bottom ???

I know there cheap but I'm broke till my next pay check.

I said screw the valve spring compressor and used a 3/4 sparkplug socket, a hammer and a rag to install the valves. Since the springs are so stiff and collars are a b$&@$ to put in I found a way around it haha
