That looks like a cool project...I have always wanted to build a racing go kart because I have an off road now. Anyway, I wouldn't use a gti seat because it would get heavy. I am wondering if this is good or not but your engine is running behind your rear axle. If you put it in fron of the rear axle maybe your chain wouldn't slip off. I have never seen a kart with that design but if it works for you then great...just something to think about...

yeah, you got a point there. Im trying to make it go fast and I have got it running for 27 mph but then the chain slips off, but it's still more power out of the engine.

Hey good news. Got a 50cc scooter engine for my go kart. Is this engine good enugh?

I'm concerned about the steering, First I don't think you want the wheels to turn as far as they do, if they got turned that far they would probably not come back to center by themselves.
Normally the steering wheel will come back to center position
by itself.

The steering on my go kart or dragster doesnt realy return on its own. Most profesional oval race karts do but I havent seen to many homemade/manco style go karts that will return the steeering on its own.
