I do like the look of the Robertson 3 stage minibike loop though. $66
SmallEngineCams has them.

I think I like the Robertson 3 stage minibike pipe the best. $46
Seems more like a true 3 stage exhaust. Not that I really know how a three stage exhaust works, but I want one.

The one I posted from NR seems like maybe 1" until the last couple inches when the final two stages expand out.

Moving on from exhaust options....

Crank shaft end play sounds like it should be a good time, but I don't have a clue.

I can yank on it and feel it move a little, but it is probably not very much. A few thou maybe???
I have material to make a thicker gasket, but really don't know how much end play there should be. I've read about too much end play sounding like a clunk when you pull on the crank and just right sounds like a tink????

Mine barely moves and sounds more like a gulp. lol

Anybody got any input?

So I think I'm going to try to copy these.

I'll start with a couple 1.25" x 0.75" x 0.125" steel pieces, drill a hole in the center, and then sand/grind an arch in the underside to provide clearance to rock.

Then I'll try to weld it together and clean it up real nice.
If I fail, the new head comes with another set of rockers.

On the crankshaft end play I have read somewhere ( I think Bobs 4 cycle) it should be around .005".
This is what I will be aiming for when mine goes back together.
Before the rebuild I dont think mine had any at all. I have a friends engine here and it also has none.

So shipping label created on the 9th.
3 day priority shipping from Walled Lake, Michigan.
Package departs Chicago USPS facility at 3:30 PM on the 16th????
My maths aren't doing well.
Hopefully it gets here tomorrow.

At least it was only $3.50 for shipping.

Sounds like the type of shipping here on aus, absolutely hopeless.
I'm waiting on a piston from England that should have been at my door 3 days ago.

I could have gotten a breather filter from China for around $3 shipped. I didn't want to wait a month, so O'Reillys has them for $12. Ouch! Says they fit 3/8 - 1/2 tubes.

I used the stock hose.

I also used a 3/8" to 3/8" plastic straight barbed hose coupler. It was like $1.09 from the hardware store.

Finished off with fancy hose clamps from the HF assorted hose clamp kit.

$15 seems like a lot of money for not having much of a purpose.
I was going to get some 3/8 ID general purpose rubber hose and reroute the filter somewhere else, but I guess I'll wait to get a vehicle for the engine. For now it'll just hang there.

My head finally made to the local post office.
Excited about that, but also excited cause I found out Game of Thrones Season 7 has started and now I have something to do while waiting for the head.

Easy part done. Now Let's see if I can get a good measurement.

I'm sure that big intake valve is closer than 0.050".
And that is with the stock gasket.
That was with zero lash.
Going to try again. The depth probe on my calipers is destructive testing equipment in this case.
