Help!

ok so my 5hp B/S engine wont start but...i start with drill....when i have it in choke and i use drill on high speed...im just getting flames out of the exhaust....and when i have it on run nothing happens....please help

Well did this just start, have you added any mods or took apart the engine? Sounds to me like timing, sheared flywheel key, or a stuck/malfunctioning valve.

I agree. If the key is sheared, the wheel is going to be out of alignment with the ignition coil. This means it's going to fire at the wrong time. That's probably one possibility.

Also, what kind of drill is it that you use to turn over your engine? Must have a helluvalotta torque.

If I didn't know better I'd say you valve timing is out & your exhaust is opening on the power stroke. Have you had the engine apart?

A sheared flywheel keyway is very possible but the result would be erratic, valve timing would be more regular.

ive had the engine apart like 20 times now this is the only time ive rebuilt and have it not start....the valves arent stuck and are working just fine....ive checked my timing gears and my key isnt sheared...i made my own out of much better material

Definantly check your key.

Yep just did actually tore apart whole keyway in crank so had to replace that an,it still wont start?

Holy CRAP! You destroyed the keyway? Or did you mean the key?

Check your timing gear because if you "JUST" tore it apart you may have miss aligned things.

ya i tore the keyway up an broke the flywheel an no everything is aligned
