help on 5hp briggs and stratton

my buddy has a 5hp Briggs and stratton and we can start it easily. but when it starts to go it wants to bog and it does and dies.
we know its the carborator or the throttle needle.
help us A.S.A.P.

Does it ever pop then die? If your pretty sure its your carburater just clean it all out realy good.
