Yeah there's two stubs of metal where the backrest used to be attached, but then it got cut off and welded on to the extra backrest/fuel tank bracket and the scrub brake guides. Engine clearance is very tight, it literally touches the extra roll over hoop when installed and it's hard to position correctly. As a bonus, the e-clip holding the clutch on rubs the tire when it's in a certain position. And my drive wheel, sprocket, and maybe hub is bent.
I've got problems...
I plan to get a metal cutoff tool to cut off the roll over hoop and backrest. Then weld the backrest better on the brake guides. Then I would get to figure out the fuel tank situation.
I'm actually glad my backrest was moved back, because I'm a long tall Texan.
Thankfully I have a car friend that has grinders, welders, air tools, and stuff that he's willing to lend to me. I want to grind those two stubs smooth too.
My 'car friend' is actually the guy who loaned me the Krylon to paint my frame.
More name ideas please everyone!
