Dunno what it is, but it looks to be in decent condition and has a Briggs 5 HP, so depending on the price, I'd go for it.

Nope, it's a Dingo. See the sprung spindles? Those weren't on AmEx's.
I would DEFINITELY go for the Dingo! Eternally a classic!

First kart is a Carter Brothers model 1203 or something. Looks altered or modified a bit.

Au contraire, mon frère! How little you know... :p

The spring-suspended spindles were on both American Expresses and Dingoes. See the extended spindle brackets on these model 225's?

They have springs.

No front axle stiffeners.. That's an AmEx!

Sorry JT, you looked at the right place,
but came to the wrong conclusion!
A Dingo next to an AmEx

Well, at least I know now.
At this rate, I should change my signature to say something like: "Do the opposite of what I say".:(

Either way, OP:
Go for the AmEx! It's still very much a classic!

If you get it, please dispense with that awful John Deere theme. Yuck!
I mean bein’ redneck is fine and all, but... wouldn’t International Harvester Red be a better choice?

That’s not the first time I’ve seen the same green and yellow on a go kart. :ack2:

well. I'm giving up on the John Deere. showed a couple people and they pointed out the front axle looking like it was repaired after being wrecked and they won't answer working on a deal for a streaker now. any opinions on them?

good price. only issue is needs a torque converter which I was going to do. and what he says is a bent hub. as long as it isnt a spindle. I'm good. wanting to do a more street cart and change wheels tires etc.
not a huge fan of the mud

welp. picking it up in the next day or so. wasn't going for that look but surely I can find some smallerslicks for it. I need ideas please!

Ken-Bar is the manufacturer, “Streaker” is like calling it a Mustang but a Mustang what?
GT? GT500? Cobra? Boss 302? Etc.

It looks like a DD9, Ken-Bar’s answer to a Dingo. So it would be a Ken-Bar Streaker DD9 if I am correct. Ken-Bar made some sick frames out of thick steel tubing, definitely made to last.

EDIT—you say you want smaller slicks and I guess a low slung look. That’s my preference as well.
Make sure you have enough ground clearance for the sprocket if you go to smaller, lower profile slicks.

Remove the roll cage and set it aside (those are dorky unless you’re really riding the hills and are as reckless as BigWes :D)

thanks for the responses. I wouldn't know where to begin on I'd them. are parts easy to find for them by any chance?

yeah hoping for the low slung look. I'm a little worried about the sprocket and the size of the dual brake rotors. but we shall see.

ok I am starting to get aggravated with lying sellers on craigslist and letgo.. I specifically asked if this cart was a live axle and was told yes it is. I have heard of differentials on some but I have now been told this is also one. can someone change my mind ? I don't think this is going to work for what I was wanting to do.
