I cant tell what part of the world your located at, but Racekarts with left-side engines are way more common in Europe than here in the USA.
But unless your photo image has been reversed, the angle of your steering column is indicating your kart is currently set up to achieve additional seat room for installing the engine on the right side. (and I mean right side from the prospective of a driver driver sitting in the seat)
Your pic isn't very clear, but it apears to have a motor mount that attaches to the rear axle mounts at one end, and then your axle has a brake rotor at the other end, is that correct?
If so, I think you might simply have the axle turned around backwards in this pic.
Or I suppose it's also possible that parts got mixed up and that axle doesn't even belong with that chassis...
