Hi there. new guy to the forum.

so i recently got a mini bike for free. it's not in to horrible shape. all it's missing is the exhaust manifold/header, and the rear axle/tire setup.

i did get the motor to run, but didn't run it for more than a couple seconds because i have a few questions so i don't ruin it.

it's a little single cylinder motor. the only thing i can find on the motor as far as identifying marks is the word "SANREN" on the motor and the word "GSMOON" on the pullstart cover.

not sure if that's enough for you guys to help me. but any advice you guys have is appreciated. I'd like to be able to properly identify it so i can get the propery gas/oil mixture so i don't burn it up, and i'd like to be able to find a replacement exhaust for it.

thanks.

ok so i tried taking some pics as good as i could.

in the middle left of the pic is the carb with the back half of the air cleaner assembly

here you can see the exhaust port. it doesn't have an exhaust on it, but the port seems to be the same size as my nitro R/C car so i might try to pick up an exhaust at the local hobby shop.

in this pic i'm pointing to a heavy gauge wire that goes into the casing between the pull start and the motor. that and the fact that there is a starter button on the handle bars (next pic) makes me believe it has a starter build into the motor. but i'm not sure yet as the wiring needs some work.

soo.........any ideas???

Not really. Most likely it is Chinese.
I can only suggest doing an extensive web search.
Try to contact previous owner. May shed some light on when and where it was purchased which could ultimately lead you to a parts supplier.
Someone else may chime in. Stay tuned.

ok so far the only thing i can come up with after a quite a bit of searching is that SANREN apparently makes quite a few cylinders for various engines. but i can't find a "complete" engine by sanren. at least nothing that looks anywhere near mine.

does anybody know where on the motor i might be able to find some numbers or some information that might help us???

I have several of these engines. They are just the china special lol. Pretty good engines, cheaply made, but good. Hauled me around for years on various projects(Scooter,Moped,Chopper)

I would try and find a pocketbike expansion pipe, that will give you some good power increases over anything you do. Clean the carb. Change the spark plug. The thing your pointing to does go to an electric start, its just bolted on though.

It looks like you have it in a chopper frame. I had the same thing. I modded mine a bit though. This project was sort of....ended...

thanks crazycart. so i don't suppose you have any idea of where the model number on those things are or where i could actually find parts for it??? i don't want to spend much money on it, but do want to at least be informed about it. chances are i'll wait till i find something else for free and use the engine off of that. maybe i can find another 5hp tecumseh snowblower for free.

thanks for all the help.

now i'll go onto start another post about the rest of the stuff i have no clue about. LOL

Yeah that's the same thing i have. They are just made in china, no real brand.Look on EBAY, there are top end kits for like 25 bucks and carbs, mufflers etc. If you google "scooter parts" you can find lots of sites that carry stock parts, and aftermarket. If the engine looks the same, it usually has the same parts, like all of the china engines are the same. Also, these use a dual rear wheel and standard bike chain, you could probly integrate a go kart wheel though.Just contact me if ya need help with these engines, ive worked on them for a while.

Hey i got good news for anybody that's been following this and is also working with these motors.

so i after searching yesterday and seeing those little motors being used in various lawn care devices i decided to hit up some local stores today.

well the true value less than 1mile from my house happens to have a small gas pressure washer that has a similar variation of that motor and the EXACT SAME carburator.

so now i can just go to that store and have them look up parts for the products that they're selling right there in their own store. LOL

Identify

The maker is gsmoon. It is the 43cc Harley mini Replica. It took me a long time to identify mine which is exactly the picture you have but mine is red. Lots of parts are available online for it.
