Looks possibly better than what the P.O. of my old one did, max I'd pay is $150, if the seller doesn't understand you may have a ton of work ahead of you, keep looking for a better one. Showing up in person to look it over with $150 to offer in hand would motivate most, a buddy of mine just picked up a two seater Murray with new tubes and tires, engine that turns freely and is supposed to run with fresh gas for $120, and it's never been cut, I believe the kholer? Engine that's on it is original as well, he is bringing it tomorrow so we can clean the fuel system and try to get it running.

Okay thanks... but do you know if the mounting holes on the predator are the same as the suburu
you'll find the mounting hole diagram in the manuals

here's a 'random' 212 manual (taken from harborfreight.com)
View attachment 69730.pdf

and here are the dimensional drawings (incl the mounting diagram) for your EX17 (taken from subarupower.com)
View attachment subaru-ex17-dimensional-diagram-power-curve.pdf

I'll rather not comment on the "really fast" part...
but first thing that comes to mind is "do some reading!" ;)

Okay thanks for all the input. But I'm in Colorado and you dont see too many go karts posted.

Also he said he did not do it. Someone else did it that they knew what they were doing and it's perfectly straight.

Colorado! So we are dealing with the same type of folks. If I wanted to sell something bad enough I'd comfort you by assuring you of what you want to hear too, even more if I really wanted that $300. Take a tape measure and check for yourself, look over the welds closely. I think I'd still be patient for a better one. If you P.M. me your city I'll look around too, I've had no problem finding them all over the state and I bet I can find one a little less abused.

Can't see the clutch, sorry. :(
It could be a torque converter, but it looks more like a centrifugal clutch with a full chain guard.

For the red one you posted about earlier, I'd say $100 max.
For the blue one(looks like a Ken-Bar Streaker of Carto Bros. of some sort), assuming the engine isn't beat to pieces/blown up, and the frame is sound and straight, you're probably looking at a reasonable price of around $150-$200. Somewhere around $300 if the engine runs, and even more if it's driveable. But if it needs tires, it probably doesn't drive. :lolgoku:

These are all estimates, your mileage may vary.:cornut:

Offer $300 because it needs $100 worth of tires, always try to haggle, anything that needs repair will be what may helps you. I'd still make the drive for the red manco I sent the link for, it's cheap, and for around another $100 or so it would last a long time, it looks old, not abused!

This one here, he is asking $175, says it runs but needs a little work, tires look like they have some life left, original seat is intact, kholer 8hp engine.

I think that one is a steal, anyone agree?

Not sure what you mean by protection exactly, but that kart has no cage, no belts, no warranty, and no guarantees other than its been cut and welded at least once. To be straight forward and honest, most of the folks in this thread have collections as I do, and good reason to lead you away from the first one.

If you meant does it have potential, well yes, but the potential I see is a parts kart at $100-150 value tops. If you don't have a welder, or know someone who does, or the knowledge to weld either way, I'd avoid that one like the plague! The second one you posted was better, but both are over priced. Most I spent on any of the ones in that picture was $250, and it was driveable.

If you are stuck on the first one and want it that bad, I'd start my offer at $100, wouldn't exceed $200. Know going in that one needs lots of time and parts, likely to exceed to budget you told me you have available, and it may be several months before you get to drive it. Hopefully I answered what you are asking.

Not bad, but I'd see if he can get closer to your budget. Looks to me like a manco (could be wrong) but doesn't look like it's been beat on, I'd say if it runs and drives $400 cash might bring them off it, and get you a nice kart at a pretty fair price. You aren't stealing it at that price, but they aren't giving it away either.

I am wrong about manco, that looks like a Murray, I love mine and it doesn't even have an engine.
