Nope. Mounted the whole assembly to the workbench and ground it flat and level using a granite slab and paper + wooden supports to make sure the slab was level when it slid around.Only hardened copper wire will work, steel piano wire is mo bedder.
You have access to a lathe?
Are you serious about piano wire? because it was a pain to straighten the pins then re-rivet the chain back together. Then I had to untension and retension the chain each time I took it on and off.
