The gearing on the bike is 50 tooth rear sprocket and 14 tooth front ...i don't think the gearing is the problem ...i think the clutch springs are too strong... Here are a few pics
i just took for you guys ....and i just want to thank all you for your advice, input and ideas it made things a lot easier to be able to talk to you guys
The only things i have left to do is remake and mount the chain tensioner because the first one broke and fell off the bike while i took it on its first full throttle ride and the second thing is to mount the dummy tank
and as you guys can see it smokes like a locomotive on meth

The pipe does get a little warm im thinking about putting a heat shield in between the pipe and my leg but its not unbearable but iv only only rode it a few minutes at a time so it will get hotter on a longer ride...... It does smoke A LOT and its obnoxiously loud ..it kinda sounds like a mini Harley ....so i made a new chain tensioner and for some reason its slipping off ...and i don't know why all 3 sprockets are in line ill have to take a few pics tomorrow for you guys the batteries are dead in the camera and i have to take a dump so fist things first so ill talk to you guys later .....Oh god its starting to crown!

DUDE..... gotta slow your roll...... TMI.....

Now back to our regularly scheduled progam

I love the smoke aswell. That is so cool.. I see the bike is much bigger than I thought. How the torque for sitting straight on the seat. Look like it could throw you off if you gaver.

Yeah i did have a chain tensioner on ....... Do you think that's what it is?....You think it might be too tight ? Or too loose ?..........I almost BIFT it right in the middle of the road ...it seems like when i hit around 30mph the clutch kicks in and i get a 10lb boost Then it starts speeding up a lot faster................ I don't think i wanna go any faster thinking the chain might fall off again and get wrapped around the rear axle and flinging me off like a 225 pound rag doll... And Every time that happens the same thought goes through my head .."How many teeth am i gonna loose this time"

You have a gear ratio of 3.57:1. That is extremely high, and probably the reason why you have such poor acceleration and torque. If you get a larger rear sprocket (or smaller toothed clutch) you will find that your take-off will improve a lot. You might destroy your clutch as it is at the moment

the way you have it you could get a HIGER top speed by giving it slower gearing. think of it like trying to drive a manual car from a stand still in 5th gear. that clutch is working its arse off

diesels do have a lot more torque than gas motors, so that helps, but i bet if you were using a gas motor the bike wouldnt even move

Blue is correct. If you gear it down a bit, your bike might actually reach higher speeds because it is not having to work so hard to get there. It could be one of the rare cases where this could occur.

Unfortunately though, there is always a trade-off between torque and speed. The more torque you gear for, the lower the speed

So have you given this to your mom?

No problem with all the help. It is cool seeing a project come together and actually get finished for once.

no i haven't given it to her yet ....my mom lives about 4hrs north from my house in the bay area......my friend is coming over today with the camera ......i never start a project and not finish it ...even if it's a total disaster
so i made a chain guard for it and did a few other things to it since the last time i took pics ill post a few more pics for you guys a little later :wai:
