hard to pull start

Okay guys I pulled the valve cover off and tdc it and then check tto see valve clearance was on point and it was..intake at .004 and exhaust at .006....I then try to pull start it and noticed it is still hard as heck to pull start it...I removed the spark plug to see if it would be easier to start and of course it was cause there is no compression ...checked sparkplug and looked into top of piston didn't notice anything out of the ordinary....I put sparkplug back in and tried to pull start and yet again it is very difficult to pull start....fyi I have cranked it up and it runs fine...its just hard as hell to pull start.......any ideas y?

whats the make and model of the engine?

212 cc predator engine..previous owner said there is only a few hours of run time on it ....

I have already fixed recoil pull start and the torque belt has been tighten up and fixed already

if it runs thin don't fix it lol idk why it is very difficult to pull start if you got your intake at .004 and exhaust at .006 that should be fine on the other hand try taking your mufler off and see if anything is blocking it i had a dirt bike it was difficult to start and the exhaust baffle was Clogged up and was difficult to start thats the only thing i can think of.

you may just have one of thos engine that have more compression thin other engine. every engine different in it own way. check your oil level to sometime to much oil will make it hard to start causing to much pressure in the block.

These engines have a compression release on the cam, don't they? If so, the release may be stuck. This happened on my engine once, and darn near ripped my forarm off.

Ahhhh I totally forgot aboit tjat!...I lnow previous owner took out governor so maybe they hit that when they took ot out

Update I got it started and ran it around the yard for thirty or so min...I think it just needed to ne ran for a min cause now it cranks up fairly easy

Couldn't hurt. Might make life easier for future searchers.

I find that incredibly difficult to believe. In fact, I'd bet that they do have the compression relief mechanism. And I don't bet on anything but a sure thing.

i know i had these engines apart many of times and never seen a compression release on them so i bet your wrong doc. american and Canada models are probably different.

Ahh, No- I don't think "we" got a compression relief, while "you" did not. "WE" did not get a Predator at all... Next?
