Harbor freight throttle stuck!

i neeed help my 6.5 hp harbor freight look a like throttle is stuck! it takes a hammer to move the lever thanks

is it rusted? have you loosened the bolt a bit and/or used some wd-40 or other lubricant on it?

Maybe bent causing it to bind?

thanks jblankster ill try loosening the bolt. or wd40 it shouldnt be rusted though. its brand new.

If you have an engine that wasn't specifically designed for go kart use, you won't have the right type of throttle. The proper throttles are called RV or spring loaded remote throttles. If you have a friction throttle, you'll have to fabricate something that works.

i had the same prob! yeah just loosen that bolt on the top

but dont put too much wd-40 on there.... remember that dirt sticks to it. try a non greasy lubricant like silicon spray

is there a way to take off wd40? and what size is the bolt my socket wrench wont fit

I've purchased 2 HarborFreight motors and they are GREAT for gokart use! Just don't yank the governor... they don't take the abuse too well.

and about taking WD-40 off use some Varsol on a rag just remember anything you Varsol will have No oil on it at all its a great de-greaser
