i put the 90 jet seems fine. i think the compression is killing me. i checked the chart and it said i have almost 11.5 to 1 compression. if i add gx1600 head gasket it should bring it to 9.8 closer to the 9.5 that is stated. good idea?

even before i installed thses new parts i had trouble getting the engine to idle without the choke so this problem is not new.

try 93 octane maybe with a lil octane boost 1st

also.. did you drill the low speed jet out?? it helps the idle quality and ease of starting

do you know which 160 head you have? take a syringe, flavor injector or even a liquid measuring cup if it has ml on it. fill the heads cavity with water, and pour off into the meeasuring cup.

im pretty sure the compression needs to be changed
the reason y i did some of the mods was to get rid of the idle problem. i think it must have been the timing all along. i even bought new gasket and a carburator.

i really wanna sell the piece of crap. is it un common to perform these mods and not have engine work at all. i checked everyting and it shhould work fine.

A good lesson to all.
Bring engine up to stock first BEFORE making mods.
Otherwise you do not know what you have.

In the words of an old stock car driver my Dad knows, "I was blowing the doors off of Corvettes with tunnel rams and stuff in a 55 chevy because they just couldn't get it all to come together."

toronto, canada. i think it's major carb issue becuase it seems that it's not getting gas and when it does it's too much and over revs with choke on. i think this was linked to idle problem before but should a brand new carb get rid of that? it's a no name carb.
