I’m going to pay someone to weld the caliper and plate. I was planing to put the 212cc once I save some money getting the 420. So what you are saying I would have to extend the swing arm. Can in still use the 212cc with the extended swing arm.I have a similar kart. You either need to flip the axle and relocate the rear brake caliper or come up with a jackshaft setup.
I went with a 420 rather than the 212 and Im glad I did. The 420 is barely enough and a week after the install I already had a plan to upgrade most of the internals.
I also had to extend the swing arm about 10" to fit the 420.
I don't see why one wouldn't fit. You'll want to get an engine, engine mounting plate, torque converter and a reverse gear box; among other parts. Go Powersports should be able to help with the conversion. It won't be cheap, but it can be done. Also, knowing a little bit about fabrication might help.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Would you know any decent first gearbox I could buy an Amazon reason being is a I have gift cardI have a similar kart. You either need to flip the axle and relocate the rear brake caliper or come up with a jackshaft setup.

Ive seen it done without extending it, but they always have to mount the engine up high or one instance of someone removing the rear suspension.I’m going to pay someone to weld the caliper and plate. On Amazon? Any generic FNR gearbox will work. I have no idea about the quality of them. -But something else to consider, youll be changing the gearbox when you change the engine. You cant use a smaller (2-13hp capable) FNR with a 40 series TQ without a ton of modification that would ultimately be pointless as the smaller gearbox cant handle the power.Would you know any decent first gearbox I could buy an Amazon reason being is a I have gift card

It’s for me and my daughter she 8. Honestly if I am do at least 25 to 30mph I’m good. Would I be able to use the exiting gas tank that came with the buggy on the 420 or 212You're going to have to do a lot of fab work to shoe-horn a comparatively wimpy Predator engine into that buggy, plus the CVT, plus the gearbox when the buggy was designed around the 150cc engine/gearbox combination from the get-go. The 420 engine is a lot taller meaning, if you don't remove the fuel tank and factory carb and muffler, you will lose suspension travel in the rear. Still might lose suspension travel -- go ahead and remove the silly cargo rack in the rear while you're at it....
I think this is a Carbide 150cc:

The 212cc is a great engine, it is just ideal for a more minimalist application, a basic frame go kart (like our "forum mascot" at the top of the page) or mini-bike where these engines will really rip.
How fast do you want to go?
Will two people be riding in the kart?
I bet there's a ton of videos on YT on doing a Predator swap.....

Thanks for all your info. Eventually i will probably want more speed. Once I buy a smaller one for my daughter, but I’ll probably keep this one for myself.I think so yes, especially if it is a gravity feed fuel tank. I am just not completely acquainted with your particular buggy. You had more photos on your introductory thread but they're over there and not here.
This buggy-kart is heavy yes but I don't know how big it really is. Some are adult sized and some are kiddie sized (keeping in mind that the overall concept of the go kart was to have the smallest possible "racing car" while still being able to be operated by a 6 foot adult male).
Most people coming here want the fastest, most powerful vehicle they can possibly build, so your recent statement comes as a bit of a shock. I'd give this thread some time to germinate -- most people are at work at this time.
So 420 40 series and take off the rack I was trying to use the fuel tank the buggy came with but I could scratch that outGo 420 and 40 series now to avoid having to make 2 totally different setups.
Use the rack just move it up the frame a bit. No? Make a new rack?
