Gx240 clutch help

So I've recent taken on the project of building a fully custom go kart, I'm at the point now where everything else is ready to go I just need to get a clutch, sprocket and chain.

I'm using a 50mm axle from a racing kart, I have a couple sprocket carriers that I would like to use. However I'm struggling to find a pitch which will support the 1 inch shaft on the gx240 as well as be able to buy a sprocket that I can mount onto the sprocket carriers.

Update, though a bit of research I've discovered i should be using a pitch of #40. Could anyone give me recommendations for a #40 sprocket?

Don't any of the kart supply shops carry a sprocket?
We have a number of kart shops in the UK, 50mm axle and sprocket carrier is pretty much standard nowadays, they all carry various sprocket sizes. The GX 240 isn't that powerful, a standard clutch will handle the torque if geared correctly. I run 18 - 82 on a #219 setup for a GX200 race engine. It's all about the rear wheel diameter, approximate weight you're trying to move along and type of terrain. I use a noram stinger, I don't have room for a disc clutch.

I have a standard clutch already, but I can't seem to find any shops in the uk that sell a 60 tooth+ #41 sprocket

Okay, A friend of mine has a gx390 on a CRG with a 50mm rear axle. He used a kart sprocket hub assembly, then a selection of cheap steel sprockets from a transmission supply shop, I think he bought the sprocket hub from Dart Karts, we then purchased the sprockets from J&M belts

You can ask to have the sprocket centre machined so it will sit on the sprocket carrier, (they are supplied as a blank centre)

What did you ask for to have the sprocket machine for your hub?

You could order a 60-tooth/#41-pitch sprocket blank from this site, then machine it to fit one of your sprocket carrier's:

We just asked to have the centre opened up to the diameter of the carrier, I didn't even know it was a thing ubtil the shop owner asked us what the centre diameter was going to be. This was years ago, even before I had my lathe.

I emailed them and said they don't do sprockets for the pitch I need

Could you not buy a clutch with a better suited sprocket? It seems to be a lot of work trying to get a match.
Give Dartkarts a call, or any shop that's close to you. A standard 240 isn't that powerful, so you don't have to go mad on the clutch, a corporate setup would more than likely be okay for your application.
