Hi my name is Casey. Im new to the forums and building go karts. I am a mechanic by trade, but have loved small powersport projects since i was a kid. I bought a streaker fun kart for $75, and have been doing budget performance mods to it to get an idea of how much the factory tec can take before i upgrade to a tillotson. Shaved the head, removed governor, built an intake to fit a vm22, homemade header, and an hs50 cam. I put an old champion 3 gallon fuel tank on it just to play around without running out of fuel. The axle, bearings, and original sprocket were all seized. So i put a new axle, hubs, bearings, and sprocket on it from go powersports. Project is still in the works, but so far it is a blast to ride.

Decided to go ahead and put a tillotson on the kart, and save the tec for a pit bike build. The tillotson is a mean little engine.

Cam is in, converted to a single seater, got it painted, and working on getting some lighting on it next. Definately a fun ride to whip around on.

I'd suggest ditching that pod filter or at least getting a foam pre-filter for it, otherwise those are very see-thru and not effective. Marginal at best for street use, but bad for trails and off-pavement.

People think those filters are gonna net them beaucoup horsepower and unforeseen performance gains but they are mainly for looks, sadly.

I was hoping you were gonna take off the janky roll cage for sure....:D
It's probably 30-50 pounds of unneeded (dead) weight anyway, right?

...but where else would you mount your blue noodles? I know JT loves ‘em...
