Any suggestions for a homemade throttle system after the governor has been removed?

Mostly definetly, however, my last predator 212 locked on me. So as a result, all I'm doing now is preparation and research for my next engine.

This guy seems like he knows what he is talking about. If I ever remove a governor, I would probably hook it up like this because it looks legit.

Using that vid as a guide, I did this, works like a bought one...

I did this....The throttle arm is the govenor arm ,cut up and re purposed ,then attached with an anchor/stud combo through the tin. Attached a return spring directly to the arm. Works great.....

I too was wondering(sorta) bout this threads question... My Honda has no governor, nor throttle arm assembly(parsay). I was gonna remove the arm assembly off the HF212 and use it on the Honda(gonna need a larger variable throttle vs the current 1/2" throw off the governor arm).

With the above mentioned method, all you need is the carb (obviously), the original throttle control plate & a piece of coat hanger wire...

Is it also safe to just hammer the governor out from the inside?

Uhh, NO! To remove it, you must open the case. Remove the arm from the outside. Cut the top off of that rod. Push it INTO the block to remove. Then remove ALL the remaining govenor peices inside,like the plastic gear and stuff. MAKE SURE THE 2 DOTS FROM THE CRANK AND CAM LINE UP BEFORE. YOU PUT IT BACK TOGETHER OR IT WONT START.....
