The yellow version if you are looking at a "box stock project" is built to tighter tolerances more suited for racing in spec class. The blue, black, gray etc.... are all just utility motors. The yellow doesnt put out more power or anything per se though.. just more detailed.

I thought the yellows were just a different knock-off but from like Costco  They are sold by allot of the race engine shops as BSP motors. Tighter tolerances make them preferred by racers. Am I right?

If I remember correctly I heard the “tighter tolerances and manufactured better” in a youtube video, not here in the forums, from "agk" "ngr" "acr" "arc" "whatever the hell racing" engine shop. I have no idea if it’s true... I don't have a blue, yellow, gray, purple, rainbow or black... Just an expensive pile of non-running RED’s at the moment :roflol:

If you are running AKRA rules in racing karts.. the only acceptable engine is a Yellow Box Stock Project engine (BSP) available from most kart shops in kit form with a mandated header/filter and no gas tank. These engines are designed for racing and have rules based off of them for clearances, sizing etc..

The Champion branded motors i have on both of my generators and a water pump are "yellow"

We are not but a few buddies and me plan to race each other for fun. They have the racing karts and I have the one in my id pic. We know we want to go with the honda clone but was wondering if one was better or would hold up longer.:wai:

i have heard the quality goes red, blue, yellow, but its probably not right, as yellows are for racing. (i dont know about black)
