...

The clutch drum thing makes contact with the wheel... Thus turning it forward.

Find out what chain size it is, it's... tiny. Look at your neighbor's electric scooter or whatever. It's VERY small.

Exactly. The problem is... how will you mount the sprocket?

So friction drive and welding may be my last choice.

go to a bearing supply place. They often have a wide variety of sprockets with a wide variety of bores. just make a flat spot on the crank and put the set screw on the sprocket on the flat spot on the crank. so to start it you just get on and push it. No clutch as soon as it starts it goes. Super torqy.

but you will have brakes, you can just do jr's idea and lock the brakes and stop the engine or get good at using the kill switch and rolling starts.

I'm not sure yet, but when I figure out how to weld a subframe on the back to attach an engine, and I definitely don't need the chain. I'll be contacting you. What's wrong with yours? eBay should have TONS.

One of mine snapped off and I don't like buying online and I can't find any places here that sell that kind of chain. What is it like #25? It's this kind of chain right?

Not sure, but sure looks like it... If you know anyone who has an electric scooter, or any electric chain driven bike, chopper, or anything like that, and yours is the exact same, then yes, it's the same.

Nah, it wasn't JUST found, but yes, it was found-found. About a month ago, lying on top of a trash can.
