It's up to you. The 10% duty cycle means that you can weld for 1 minute out of every 10. So if you weld for 1 minute straight you have to wait 9 minutes until you can weld again. It only has 2 heat settings so there is no fine tuning. 70 amps max isn't very impressive.

Just depends on what you plan to do with it

Hehe, I ignore my duty cycle! :D

Stupid, I know. I welded like 3-6 minutes in 10 minutes. I have a 30% duty cycle I thinks...

Have you stick welded before? If not, you may get flustered with this one. Since you're a fellow Canuck, I'd suggest you check out Princess Auto, (the Barrie store, obviously), They've got wire feed units starting at $200. I know that's double what you paid, but they're fairly easy to learn and get decent results early on. If you want further ramblings on this, feel free to ask!
(And BTW, I'm just outside of Bradford. Neat, huh?)

Also- Ignoring your duty cycle is something I did professionally! Why? "cause it HAD to get done NOW, and I didn't have to pay for the machines I burnt up doing it! :roflol:

lol my machine have a 100% duty cycle at 350 amp lol, 70 amp 10% cycle for 100$ well you will be able to melt 3/32 rod with it and probably put up your whole cart together with it... think of it guys, 1 minute of continous welding is LONG. when you are welding a frame you do like 8-10 seconds max welds. you will be able to go with it. just dont mind yourself to weld the whole kart in 5 minutes LOL
