I have a 6.5 hp predator engine and a drift trike I'm building. Engine has a 3/4" shaft and my axle is a 1" pipe. I'm trying to find a 14-15t centrifugal clutch and a 45t sprocket. I saw a sprocket that had a hub built in.

But it is #40 chain and the clutches I have found that are 14 or 15 teeth are #35. Does anyone know cheap 14-15t clutches that are #40 or a sprocket like the one above that is #35.

First you need to get a 1" keyed shaft. The pipe isnt 1", or if it is, it isnt strong enough to be the axle.

10" tire with PVC covering. It's a drift trike

By all means, use the 45t axle sprocket but, IMO, use a standard 10t #40 clutch; my lighweight kart runs 5:1 gearing with 10" tyres so, a lighter trike should be ok with 4.5:1 but, I wouldn't push it much past that...

IDK......I don't have any experience with this. ...but...it seems like he might have the right idea......because there is little traction involved. ....forward motion ..... (and of course sideways. ...:lolgoku:...) is achieved mainly by rpm.....little torque required. ....In fact. ...I think mainly torque would be wasted as it only works when you are trying to move the vehicle without excessive wheel spin......

Right????

Ok and that would still give a decent top speed too like 30-35 mph??

24mph @3600rpm

Right????

That's mostly correct; however, some torque is required to start the wheels spinning; ok, the PVC reduces traction to a minimal amount but, the lower the torque transfer, the less likely that will happen &, as we all know, the higher the gearing, the lower the rate of torque transfer...

So what would you do? Go 4.5:1 or what? I can't seem to find a 3/4 clutch 12t for a #40 chain.

Why do you need a 12t clutch? You're looking at a 45t sprocket, correct?

45/4.5=10, not 12...

Hah I'm located in st.louis missouri.

Can you please fill out your profile to show your location? It's much easier than asking every time we need to know...
