What about the on and off switch? It was working fine

if i end up buying a new carb should i buy one thats meant for a honda engine or for a clone (i have a clone). I can buy a honda gx 160 one wth 3 gaskets a fuel line and a fuel filter for about 14 dollars

It sounds like either your switch died, or most probable, the ground wire from it is loose or broken somewhere.

I have no idea if the gx 160 is compatible with a 196.

Yeah i bet all your messing with the carb and stuff you just knocked a wire loose.

Im just going to order a honda gx200 carburator for my predator 212cc. Will that fix my problems and will that help the go-kart in nay way since its going from a clone carb to a honda carb?

alright chancer i will and could i have messed up the on and off switch in any way? Like for instance, when im going fast and i want to come to a stop i let go off the gas and the turn the engine off while its still moving. Could that have messed up the switch? I do that because i dont have breaks Today i messed with my carb and like i took it all apart everything i took of mainly everything and cleaned it really good and when i put it back it stared leaking a bit off gas i think its coming from the on and off switch but idk i think ill just a buy a new carb and their problem solved

the kill switch wont work
You remind me of me when I first started and I lost ground at the kill switch and couldn't turn my engine off.

But you see that wire coming up from the switch? Is it connected behind the bolt(a.k.a. is it grounded) ?

I'd just put all the stock stuff back on that engine. Go to harbor freight get a new engine and take the other one back in a few days. Buy the carb you want and put it on.
,along with the pipe and new air filter. It's not like you are the first person to take back something to H. F.

the caeb i bought came comes with 3 gaskets im pretty sure that 2 of them are for the carb one behind it on in front of it. Well the third one looks like the one that goes on the muffler but i want too be sure bwcause then it could just burn it up,ect
