A screenshot is not the same as a photo; photos are jpg files, screenshots are png files which are not recognised by the forum pic uploader software;

Okay so heres an update, I had some spare time on my hands so i decided to clean the carb. I took off almost everything except for the choke plate and the throttle plate. I also took off the air/fuel mixture screw. I put it back in until it got hard then i gave it 2 full turns outwards. Well I switched the fuel line because the other one was too short. Now it backfires alot but it looks so nice. It sounds like it runs better but today the belt i bought finally came in so once I get home I'll try it out.

So as I mentioned before in this thread my on and off switch isn't working. I think I may have found the problem. I think whenever i was messing around with my carb I knocked a wire loose. I haven't connected it because I don't want to mess up the engine.

I finally bought an air filter and its about to get delivered to my house but what do i do with the other houses? The hose coming out from the gas tank I just removed it but what about the one coming out from the Valve head Cover?

I take that Valve cover hose and stick a Fuel filter on the end of it and let it Dangle.

Okay now I have another question? Well as ya'll may know the Driven part of a Torque Converter Has 3 holes on it. What's the purpose of each hole?

My go-kart runs awesome it goes pretty fast(it scares me) and Everything is fine. But whenever i turn it on with the choke on it turns on right away but then whenever I turn the choke off it takes off. I've read before that maybe it could be because the engine has more hp than the tq is recommended for. Well mine isn't stock, I have removed the governor, installed a Honda carb, put a straight pipe on it, installed an aftermarket Air filter emulsion tube and a .36 jet on it. Before i put the air filter, the emulsion tube and the jet it would take off but barely move before I hopped on it. Now it takes off and I have to like run and jump. I have set the idle very very low and it still does the same thing. I took off the belt and ran it to see if the clutch would engage and it did. My springs were shot so i replaced them with some that fit from a Tractor Supply store. I am ordering a new weight thing with the springs(the thing inside of the clutch) so hopefully that makes a difference. I also ordered a brass brushing for it because it never had one so hopefully that makes a difference. Can someone tell me what they think or has anyone had any experiences with this happening?
Thank you,
Jason

So you changed the springs and it takes off on ya?
Sound like the springs are weaker than the stock and letting the fly weights out, therefore closing the sheaves and engaging the belt.

I believe they are weaker so could it be that? If its that I'll find out once I order the weight and springs

As you all may know I have an uncle that has a 212cc engine just like me and he bought an air fiter an emulsion tube and an air fiter from gopowersports. Before he installed that the take off was bad but once it got more throtte it ran pretty. The top spped of it is 30Mph. Well my uncle said that after he put the air fiter and the jet and the emulsion tube on it the take off was awesome(he described it) He hasnt remove the governor and he hasnt removed the stock exauhst. He told me he hasn't changed the oil at all. He said that whenever he went fast it would turn off and then it wouldnt turn on unless the choke was on. Why is this problem occuring could someone assit me.

Despite whatever changes were made, the carb is unable to supply enough fuel at full throttle, the jet may be undersized...or the float is improperly set. My money is on the float.

With the bowl off, turn the carb upside down, the float should be parallel with the float rim of the carb.

Also, you can take the float off and shake it, any noise means it's leaking, but I don't think this is your problem.

Not even a little bit sure it's a float, but typically, jets only cause the engine to run lean...not die.

Let us know what you find out.

Ohhh alright thank you. Well my Uncle said that today we couldn't go so tommorow ill try out what you said and if it leaking or somethings up I have an extra float here from my Old carb its not a pretty one but it should work perfectly. I'll do what you said about the float tommorow. I know that hes never cleaned his carb as well I have sprayed some carb cleaner through the bottom where the jets are but that's it.
Thank you Poboy kartman.

Can someone explain this to me; My Uncles Go Kart hit 30mph stock and mine hit 31mph(Not stock) with me and him on it. His weighs like 100+ more pounds than mine. His Kart is all stock(Never changed oil nor Cleaned the carb). We have the same gearing except his has a 6" Driven Unit and mine has a 7" unit. Mine has 18" rear tires and 15×5 on the front his as 18" all around. Why is his so fast in its stock form?
