I have started my own track. But it's around the 5 acre yard I have.

Is the location you picked distant or your yard.

It's 5 miles from my house. In the country so I would have no way of knowing what goes on there. It's posted and chain across the entry (driveway) to it but that's all.

If possible have it fenced then have barbed wire going across the top, with a salt pit on the inside and outside of the fence. Then have security cameras in place with flood lights. Trespassers are never prosecuted hard enough for it to stop.

Since you don't want a road course, packed dirt/clay could be fun.

You'll be glad you did.
Road courses are fun but there's nothing like pitching it in sideways in the turns then hammering it onto the straight.
Plus there's the fun of finding out just how long you can stay on the throttle before you have to turn.
Once you dump it, you'll know when to lift.

For sure. My neighbor built a Tri oval in the back field. It's great fun. You have to ride through his, his brother in laws, and father in laws yards to get on it, and you can't see it from the road and only really close friends and family use it. Fortunately I fall into the former category. I buried myself and my kart in some blackberry bushed a few times before I figured out just how much I had to slow down for the corners.

I run off the track into mesquite bushes.
