Today I was driving my go kart as usual. I started going around a corner, and the go kart stalled(pretty normal, it was a tight turn). But when it stalled it rolled about 5 more feet, and made a really unpleasant grinding noise while it rolled. I have a feeling it's coming from the clutch area. I have a centrifugal clutch. I hope it's the clutch, because I don't want to have to buy a new engine.

Could it mean that the oil needs to be changed?

or do I need to oil my clutch?

what would be making this noise and how would I fix it?

Did/have you oiled the clutch regularly?

Yes you need to oil it, every 2 hours of use..... might have screwed it now....

just regular oil in a little oiler can, viscosity isn't too important as long as tbe operation is smooth! oil the part where the output shaft spins and the bell housing doesn't.. It's the bushing that rides on the shaft, DO NOT oil the clutch shoes for jeez' sake
trust me, i've done it HAHA

Usually there is a snapring that contains the drum to the inner components, I use that as the reference spot and drop a few drops at that point...
Do not to use a spray kind of oil, they will get it over the shoes and elsewhere.... If anything your finger will do with a few drops at that point...

10w30 is a start, any oil will do...

Oh.... I didnt say you sucked..... I can correct my original statement if you wish....
It happens.... chill.... all's good....
and most likely its fine it just needs oil...... albeit a little less then optimal now.

On to a different matter....you didn't answer the questions...a kart dying in a sharp turn is not normal....you ought to be able to do donuts...and I've seen flipped karts continue to run for a few seconds....

Half the time I'm on moble.... Those sites are horrible to navigate...even on the PC.
Can you upload them... Or at least direct link the pic, with the pic button.
I know it'll help a number of mobile only guys here.

Oh yeah...that engine definitely comes with a low oil sensor that needs to be disconnected.

That's why it dies in turns.

Disconnect the yellow wire in pic #2 and wrap it in tape so it won't short out....done.
